My favorite type of car!
I have Aspergers Sydrome ( a high form of autism). With AS often comes social anxiety. I often deal with this several times but one of the most common and agitating times is when im talking my so called “relaxing” walks. When its nice out i like to take walks around my area and listen to my ipod. I live in a suburb near Chicago by Midway Airport. Since it is a city near chicago or really part of chicago there will be alot of people and cars and as much as i like chicago (im a city girl) the people walking around make me uneasy feeling. See when i walk i go into day dream mode and listen to my music…when im walking down a sidewalk and see someone coming towards me in the opposite direction. All get all stiff and nervous…i mean the sidewalks are only so big and some people just hog them. When i have to go past people i end up walking almost on the edge of the curb just to avoid being close to them. When cross non-main streets you know the ones with out the stop light systems and walk past fast-food drive thrus, bank drive thrus, plaza entries etc and cars happen to turn the ride up my a** as i try to cross and mind my own business. Oh is sooo p*sses me off!! Its like stop riding up my a$$ and leave me alone! Its not my problem i dont have eyes on the back of my head! I HATE dealing with strangers!! Another thing that will just make me probably seem MORE crazy is crossing streets of neighborhoods, and this is ones that are NOT the main streets so there is no stop signals. Sometimes car will come down when im trying to cross some will let my go first which is nice but yet again i dont like to interact with strangers. Meaning the little hand signal saying thank-you i dont even want to do! Even that tiny mundane interaction makes me cringe! Now when i see cars coming down the streets again ill act as if im turning the corner and walk a different way but then turn back to my original route or walk behind the car when it gets to the stop sign JUST to avoid that tiny petty interaction with them…that is the dreadful hand signal! So yes here i am probably looking lost and confused walking in literal circles just to avoid that extremely teeny interaction with someone. I mean i could come off rude and not just igknowledge the person who kindly lets me through….but then again there probably be like ewww she is so rude…blah blah…really i shouldnt even care and just cross without the hand signal. Oh and i dont like when people behind me on there bikes are riding up my a$$ either…i generally dont like people…that is random people on the streets…i want nothing to do with them i want to listen to my music, enjoy my walk, and be in my “me” world…i dont want to deal with other people…yet i just get so nervous and upset when there is people around me while im walking. sometimes ill try to walk in normal neighborhoods instead of the main streets but even then there is still cars crossing and people walking by me. But at least these are easier to avoid…like today i did that. That is walked in a normal neighborhood area. When i seen people who were about to cross paths with me ill switch sidewalks and act like it was my plan to do that the whole time trying to make the whole “im switching bc i dont want to be near you” not obvious. Oh and did i mention when people holler at me from cars and such? Omg im just glad i didnt give them the finger yet! Once in another neighborhood i lived we had this small local restaurant and these sugar induced bratty 10 yr old boys where yelling random sh*t (have no clue what i had my ipod on full blast) at me every time i went past them (i seen them twice there and the way back). Im glad i didnt go off on those brats. Really walking isnt as enjoyable as it used to be for me..it seem my anxiety is getting worse and worse…
American Bantam 1941 Wind Up Car
All around the world there is soooo many different cultures. Even here in America there is different cultures. One of the most well known difference is many southern people. Even though we are all Americas….Kentucky, Texas,NYC,Chicago,Boston etc…all america there is some differences i notice in southern culture i found to be a bit odd to me… and that is the super affectionate personalities. Many (not all,of course) are very huggy and kissy…as in its not that weird to kiss you next door neighbor even on the lips for example. You dont see that where i live here in Chicago. We camp down south though. Well southern Indiana its just two hours away from where i live…yet the people are rather different in some ways. We go there a lot my aunt owns a camping lot there and we have a lot of friends there including people who are friends to the whole family. There is some teens who are really close to my mom and aunt…and at points kissed them on the lips as if its there own mothers..i find it odd. I seen even some adults there do that too, especially when drunk. Many of the people out there are super huggy too. Im not used to that stuff and i find it weird as hell…i mean there is cultures like that all over the world to most Americas its probably ”taboo” the almost unrealistic close knit community family love. But its weird when you see it in your own country and you are like wait what??? I didnt realize how different groups of people are even in our own country! To me and probably many other northern city folks it would seem weird as hell. To them its normal. Its probably normal to share spit with your next door neighbor…O.O cringe! Nothing against southern people and not all southern people are like that, obviously, but its sure common as hell in southern Indiana town we go too. Also im ok with hugs…but the neighborly kissing…..please stay away…..i also wonder how does sicknesses not spread quicker there then in big northern cities like Chicago who arnt as touchy feely? Its funny really. Normal to our camping buddies odd as hell to me O.O Then again its not my culture and i wasnt brought up that way. But its good to have different cultures everywhere or else life be boring if we were all the same. Its odd to me yes the touchy feely kissy kiss stuff but i got to realize different cultures, beliefs,up bringings etc are everywhere in this world! Even if some cultures and ways seem odd to us :D What near or far cultures stand out to you and make you wonder ? If you want to respond reblog with a msg:)
